Mindfulness gets sold as a vibe — incense, a cushion, an app subscription. The actual practice is much smaller and much harder: noticing you've been gone. Most of a day disappears into reaction loops you never consented to. The way back isn't a 30-minute meditation; it's a recurring physical prompt that pulls your attention back to the room.
